Title of the position: Assessment and Special Projects Librarian (Replacement)

Duties: Reporting to the Associate University Librarian (Strategy and Planning), the Assessment and Special Projects Librarian leads the development and implementation of a strategic, measurable, and sustainable assessment program that informs library strategic planning and organizational effectiveness. The incumbent provides support for planning and decision-making by collecting, analyzing, and presenting data-driven evidence, and assists with monitoring progress towards goals by measuring the impact and outcomes of strategic initiatives. The incumbent supports colleagues engaged in assessment work and collaborates with staff to integrate assessment measures, methodologies, and analysis tools into Library activities.

Terms: Replacement position (12 months)

Wage: Rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Skills requirements:
Education: A Master’s degree in Library and Information Science (MLIS) from an ALA accredited institution or equivalent.

Work experience:

- At least 2 years of professional experience, or fewer if the experience is particularly pertinent to the position.
- Effective oral and written communication skills in both French and English.
- Project management skills, including experience planning, organizing, and managing resources to successfully complete specific project objectives within a specific time frame.
- Experience working with data analysis and visualization tools, including the ability to leverage technology to facilitate assessment activities and the ability to effectively communicate the results of these analyses with stakeholder groups.
- Ability to work in a collaborative, team-based environment.
- Adaptable, flexible, and able to adjust to a changing environment.
- Problem solving and decision-making skills.
- Capacity to identify areas of opportunity and to develop and implement innovative solutions to respond to them.
