As a strategic partner, you will be pivotal in ensuring the successful delivery and advancement of several national assessment programs. You will oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of multiple programs and strategic initiatives within the department. Leading a diverse team of program managers, coordinators, and project consultants, you’ll foster a culture of operational excellence that drives innovation while ensuring effective resource allocation. 

What you’ll do

  • Establish and implement a comprehensive management framework to align programs, projects and operations with the MCC goals and objectives.
  • Lead program managers in executing program plans effectively, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Identify and proactively mitigate risks associated with programs, fostering a culture of continuous improvement throughout the program lifecycle.
  • Lead the implementation of strategic initiatives in the Assessment department. 
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive roadmap of strategic initiatives, ensuring alignment with assessment programs, organizational priorities and resource allocation.
  • Collaborate with leaders across different departments to ensure strategic initiatives are integrated across the organization.
  • Oversee and lead project managers and other project consultants to successfully deliver strategic initiatives.
  • Lead, mentor, and coach a multidisciplinary team, fostering a culture of high performance and teamwork.
  • Set team priorities and assign tasks to achieve learning and training objectives. Set goals, review priorities, and provide ongoing feedback to direct reports, administering annual performance reviews.

What you need to succeed

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience overseeing or managing examinations, programs, projects or a similar role.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in leading a team.
  • Proven experience in leading large-scale and complex initiatives
  • Experience in resource allocation and budget management
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Experience collaborating with technology teams to modernize or integrate new systems.
  • Experience in the high-stakes assessment industry is an asset
  • Experience in the healthcare education sector is an asset

Technical Skills:

  • Excellent knowledge of project and program management tools and methodologies
  • Knowledge of proven assessment industry best practices and standards
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical capabilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Strong relationship-building and influencing skills
  • Ability to manage multiple changing priorities, including under pressure and while working to deadlines
  • Demonstrated collaboration skills and experience working in a collaborative team environment

Language:

  • Advanced oral and written skills in English and advanced oral and written skills in French is considered a strong asset

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Technology, Education, Health, or another related field
  • A Master’s degree in Business administration would be considered an asset.
