Manager, Community Housing (Full-time) - Richmond, BC
This newly created role will provide leadership over multiple program areas in our Supported Living
Department. _I_nitially the role will focus on Independent Living and will in the future have involvement
which will include Staff Supported Homes and Home Share. Overseeing these programs the manager
will provide guidance to staff while supporting individuals with developmental disabilities to
contribute and participate fully in their community.
YOUR IMPACT:
- Ensure high quality services that promote dignity and empower individuals to make informed
decisions and communicate their needs.
- Support individuals, living independently or striving to live independently, with the tasks of
daily living;
- Provide targeted and meaningful supports that enrich each individuals’ chosen lifestyle, with
the goal of fading out if and as appropriate;
- Encourage individuals to build connections; to live self-determined lives in the community
surrounded by friends and family;
- Establish respectful relationships with the individual, their family members and support
network, providing progress reports as needed;
- Support individuals to direct their person-centred planning; to achieve goals based on their
own preferences, beliefs and desires;
- Lead a staff team; fostering a positive workplace culture where staff feel engaged, empowered
and valued.
**YOUR CAPABILITIES**:
with direct experience in managing residential programs for adults with developmental disabilities. In
addition you have:
- Relevant post-secondary education in social services, human resources, or a related field and/or
an appropriate combination of education and experience.
- Five to seven years of experience in the field, demonstrating progressive program
management accountability.
- Strong communication, problem solving and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to build and effective team, manage personnel and performance issues in an effective
and progressive manner while maintaining sensitivity to people from diverse cultural, and
socio-economic backgrounds.
- Strong planning and program development skills and experience.
- Able to build effective working relationships with other professionals, family members, and
- organizations to ensure services are in the client’s best interest and supportive of their goals.- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, knowledge of Sharevision an asset.
