Research Assistants are normally students, in a University of Winnipeg undergraduate program, employed to assist with tasks related to research. Work is performed within defined guidelines and under supervision of a more senior researcher or faculty member.

**Position Overview**:
The Research Assistant will play a valued role in the Environment and Society Co-Laboratory by supporting ongoing team research activities. Our new colleague's main purpose will be to collate a list of the University of Winnipeg's research resources and services that can be accessed by community research partners. This position will provide support for important ongoing community-partnered research in the Environment and Society Co-Laboratory, all the while providing a training and capacity building opportunity for a student interested in furthering their academic training. The Research Assistant will be directly supervised by Dr. Bullock, Professor and Canada Research Chair in Human-Environment Interactions.

**Duties**:

- This resource list will need to be accessible to community research partners currently working with the EnSo Co-Lab.
- The selected student is expected to meet regularly with their supervisor and lab Research Associate for guidance on the work, and to attend monthly lab meetings.
- This position will provide our new colleague with experiencing working in a community-based research context, and experience working in a collaborative, social sciences research lab.

**Qualifications**
- Experience with the Microsoft suite of programs (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) is required.
- A student who has taken classes in/has familiarity with the Environmental Studies and Sciences department is preferred.

**Condition(s) of Employment**:

- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
- Students must be approved for the 2024-25 Work-Study program. Students may be eligible for the Work-Study Program if they meet **all **of the following criteria:
- Currently an undergraduate or graduate student (PACE and ELP students are currently ineligible);-
- Enrolled full-time for the current Fall/Winter session (i.e. at least 18 credit hours or 12 credit hours if registered with Accessibility Services);-
- Completed 24 credit hours at an undergraduate level at the University (or equivalent);-
- Have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.0;-
- Have demonstrated financial need (shortage between your expenses and resources)*; and-
- A Canadian citizen, permanent resident, protected person or an international student with a valid study permit.The period of work will be from **ASAP - February 28, 2024 **and the estimated total hours of work will be **32 hours**.
