**About Canucks Autism Network (CAN)**

Canucks Autism Network (CAN) is a charitable organization dedicated to providing programs for individuals on the autism spectrum and their families, while promoting acceptance and inclusion through community engagement and training initiatives across BC. Our vision is for every individual on the autism spectrum to be understood, accepted, and supported in all community spaces.

We engage a workforce of over 200 volunteers and 450 frontline staff to deliver programs for children, youth, and adults on the spectrum in communities across British Columbia. Since its inception in 2008, CAN has directly impacted over 8,000 members on the autism spectrum.

**The Opportunity**

CAN is looking for a Human Resources Coordinator to join our team and help meet our growing recruitment and HR needs. Reporting to the _Senior Manager, HR and Staffing_ and working closely with a number of cross-departmental teams and the Staffing Coordinator, the HR Coordinator is primarily focused on recruitment of front-line program and event staff as well as supporting the recruitment of full-time office staff. The HR Coordinator is responsible for full-cycle recruitment activities while following CAN hiring policies and employment standards. In addition to recruitment, the HR Coordinator assists with other HR-related areas such as onboarding, policies and procedures, performance management and health and safety.

**Key Responsibilities**

**_ Recruitment Coordination_**
- Coordinating with hiring managers to assess their talent requirements, create and update job descriptions and advise on the best hiring strategies
- Planning and performing quarterly recruitment activities for front-line program staff and coordinating all teams that assist in the recruitment process
- Administering reference and criminal record checks for successful applicants
- Creating employment offer letters and coordinate the employment contract process
- Following up with successful applicants to ensure the timely collection of employee information, onboarding and payroll forms
- Assisting and advising regional teams with recruitment, interviewing and hiring processes
- Training recruiting practices and procedures to other hiring managers

**_HR Coordination_**
- Overseeing and implementing the employee concern process for front-line program and event staff, providing support and guidance to Program and Event Coordinators and escalating cases to the Senior Manager of HR and Staffing when necessary
- Assisting the volunteer coordinator with inputting volunteer concerns using BetterImpact
- Assisting the Staffing Coordinator with the scheduling process for front-line program and event staff
- Responding to reference letter and employment file requests for existing and departed CAN staff
- Assisting with the research and development of HR policies and procedures
- Administering and acting as primary contact for all front-line program staff Worksafe BC claims, and ensuring compliance with Provincial and Federal policy and regulations

**Job Requirements & Qualifications**
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources Management, Business Administration or related field with 2-3 years of hands-on HR experience
- 1-2 years of full cycle, high volume recruitment experience
- Experience in recruiting for sport/recreation industry and understanding of community services sector and/or non-profit sector considered an asset

- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport quickly with colleagues and prospective applicants
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment
- Enjoys working both independently and as part of a team
