**This is a contract **position.**

Reporting to the Director Co-Operative Education and Career Success, the incumbent is responsible for providing leadership for the effective coordination, delivery, and evaluation of career services across all campuses. The Manager supports the career staff in the delivery of services that support students in developing career related skills to prepare students for employment in the work force. Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

- Providing leadership and oversight in the development, delivery, and assessment of career services for students and alumni
- Creating operational plans for the Career Centre to create services that meet the need of both employers and the College
- Developing project plans, defining, and monitoring timelines and milestones and reporting on progress of projects
- Establishing and managing productivity and process improvement goals for Career Services
- Analyzing market information and determining strategies to take advantage of employment trends and providing relevant information to academic areas to develop jobs and ensure curriculum is based on the latest occupational information
- Building and maintaining relationships with employers seeking to recruit Georgian students
- Supporting Career Services team in the development of career fairs
- Ensuring services delivered are high quality and accessible to a diverse population of students and alumni
- Providing leadership in the marketing/promoting of the department’s services
- Maintaining expertise in the field of Career Services and ensuring staff maintain knowledge of best practices, emerging trends, etc.
- Maintaining high levels of staff performance through effective recruiting, selecting, training, developing, motivating, and evaluating staff
- Leading and advising staff in the implementation of procedures/policies
- Providing administrative support to employment consultants and other support staff
- Approving time sheets, requests to work overtime, lieu time off, vacation schedules, etc.
- Supervising Career Services staff and provides annual performance reviews
- Establishing and monitoring annual budgets
- Reviewing and approving expenditures coded to specific budget lines, travel and mileage claims, and credit card expenditures
- Completing fall and winter budget review process
- Creating IRP requests/ancillary fee requests to support operational plans as needed

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Successfully completed a three-year postsecondary diploma/degree in business, social sciences, education, or another related field
- A minimum of four years’ experience in a supervisory/management role, preferably in an educational/post-secondary institution
- Experience dealing with employment trends and forecasting labour market conditions
- Experience with staffing, planning, goal setting and staff evaluations
- Financial management experience including developing and managing budgets
- Demonstrated ability to manage in a multi-union environment
- Excellent communication and conflict-resolution skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative management style
- Leadership, organizational, time management, and priority-setting skills
- Customer service skills
