**Job Summary**: Beacons' Crèche and Preschool in Ottawa is currently seeking a dynamic individual with a passion for supporting the needs of a childcare environment. This is a full-time contract position with an initial tenure of one (1) year, which includes a 4-month probation period. As part of our team, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring smooth operations and providing excellent service to our families. Additionally, you will be responsible for handling basic janitorial duties as part of your role.

**Responsibilities**:

- Serve as the first point of contact for families and visitors, providing exceptional customer service and a warm welcome.
- Manage phone calls, transferring calls to appropriate staff members, and taking messages as needed.
- Schedule appointments, maintain calendars, and assist with administrative tasks as required.
- Update and maintain the center’s website with current information and announcements.
- Prepare newsletters for parents, keeping them informed about upcoming events, activities, and important updates.
- Manage the center’s social media platforms to engage with parents and promote the Centre’s programs and events.
- Assist with designing promotional materials and graphics using design software.
- Perform basic janitorial duties, including cleaning the reception area, common areas, and classrooms.
- Ensure a safe and hygienic environment by properly disposing of trash and maintaining cleanliness standards.
- Demonstrate excellent teamwork, communication skills, and a client-oriented approach in all interactions.

**Requirements**:

- Minimum education requirement: completion of a high school diploma in Business Management or Administration is an asset.
- At least 1 year of experience in Administration, Operations, Customer services, Social Media Management, Marketing, or related area is required.
- Proficiency in computer usage, including Microsoft Suite, and familiarity with other software programs is necessary.
- Demonstrated competence in teamwork, planning, time management, organization, and initiative is essential.
- Experience with design software is advantageous.
- Experience in a childcare setting is an asset.
- Willingness to support events coordination activities for the Centre.
- Must possess a valid first aid training certification and CPR Level C
- Clear Vulnerable Sector Criminal reference check
- Immunization records up to date/two-step TB test.
- Experience in social media management and content creation preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
