The Facilities Assistant role is to secure value for _Dyna_**_LIFE_** through effectively completing preventative maintenance and repair of laboratory facilities and equipment for the organization. Through excellence in customer service skills and interpersonal communication skills this individual makes a difference by ensuring organizational building facilities and equipment are maintained in a timely and cost effective manner.

**Major Functions and Responsibilities**
- Perform preventative maintenance and repair of laboratory facilities, including plumbing and electrical, lighting, bench and furniture and doors and windows, handle compressed gasses.
- Move and transfer laboratory equipment and furniture.
- Maintain the warehouse and facilities shop in an organized and neat manner.
- Pick up and dispose of waste material.
- Monitor and record daily and weekly measurements and maintenance for deionized water and compressed gas systems.
- Ability to demonstrate discretion and confidentiality in all circumstances.

**Required Skills**:

- Basic Building Repair & Maintenance skills
- Knowledge & ability to operate basic power tools
- Ability to trouble shoot problems & execute solutions
- Good time management skills
- Good communication & inter-personal skills
- Basic Computer Skills

Required Experience
- Experience working in Facilities and Instrument repair is preferred
- Experience/Knowledge in any of the following areas would be considered an asset:

- Electrical
- Plumbing
- Painting and
- Carpentry/Wood Working

**Minimum Qualifications**
- High School Diploma
- A building maintenance ticket or equivalent is desirable.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and satisfactory drivers abstract
- Performs well independently & within a team assigned environment

**Other Information**
- Travel to _Dyna_**_LIFE_** locations as required
- Applicant(s) hired into this position will be required to provide a 5 year Driver’s Abstract as a condition of employment.
- All persons newly hired to _Dyna_**_LIFE_** must show their confirmation of SIN letter/SIN card and government issued photo ID to Human Resources prior to commencing work.
- All persons hired to _Dyna_**_LIFE_**_ _must be authorized to work in Canada for any employer.
- Individuals hired into all positions must provide verification of their highest level of education.
- A security clearance will be required for employees newly hired to _Dyna_**_LIFE_**.
