Carson Chousky Lein LLP is looking for a full-time Legal Assistant/Clerk.

We are looking for someone with 5+ years’ experience in family law.

Key Responsibilities

1. Working in a team environment.
2. Overseeing calendar bookings.
3. Initial contact person on client files, for both external and internal inquiries.
4. Maintaining and organizing client files on a daily basis.
5. Producing and editing legal documents including: letters, documents and agreements.
6. Ongoing communication with clients and other law firms.
8. Other administrative duties as required.
9. Preparing court filings and liaising with court staff and process servers, including preparation of affidavits of service, administrative affidavits, and court confirmation forms.

10. Preparing and organizing financial statements, net family property statements, financial disclosure, mediation materials and other document briefs.

**Qualifications**:
1. Minimum 5 years’ experience in family law with knowledge of relevant legislation and rules of court.

2. Confident, dependable team player with initiative.
3. Self-starter with very strong attention to detail.
4. Strong organizational skills.
5. Ability to work in a multi-task environment and be organized to follow-up on status and completion of tasks with other members of the firm.
6. Strong ability to work independently.
7. Strong drafting skills for family law documents.
8. Knowledge of Divorcemate, Microsoft Teams, Zoom and Microsoft Outlook.
