JA South Western Ontario is seeking a dynamic, focused, collaborative Volunteer Manager to help increase and strengthen JA’s volunteer community in support of JA learning experiences for youth.

**Volunteers play an integral role in JA program deliveries. The JA Volunteer Manager** is responsible for developing a volunteer program that includes recruiting and managing volunteers to support the facilitation of JA programs, as well as a recognition program to encourage retention. You must possess excellent organizational skills and the ability to connect and communicate with people from diverse backgrounds and experience. The Volunteer Manager will work with JA Program Managers to determine volunteer requirements and match volunteers to appropriate positions.

**PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE**:
**Volunteer Recruitment**: Source and recruit volunteers through a variety of methods including cooperation with key contacts in JA’s community and corporate supporters. Collect and organize volunteer registration information including contact details, availability, skills, and interests.

**Volunteer Screening and Onboarding**:Facilitate the volunteer screening and onboarding process and provide training and support to program volunteers. Conduct volunteer interviews and reference checks as required. Coordinate and facilitate volunteer training in collaboration with JA Program Managers.

**Volunteer Coordination**: Coordinate teams of volunteers for large-scale program deliveries and events. Disseminate information for upcoming programs and events requiring volunteer support.

**Volunteer Recognition and Retention**:Develop and implement activities to ensure retention and recognition of volunteers. Communicate frequently with volunteers to ensure they are satisfied and well-placed.

**Reporting**:Assist in establishing and monitoring volunteer recruitment and engagement goals, evaluating success, and completing required reports.

**Additional duties and responsibilities**:Maintain accurate records in line with organizational standards and objectives. Represent JA in the community in a positive and professional manner. Support community relations and brand awareness activities as assigned. Assist in organizing and executing other JA-organized events and activities as required.

**WE ARE LOOKING FOR**:
**Education/ Experience**:

- Relevant post-secondary education (ex. Business, Education, Communications, Arts) and/or experience is required.
- Experience in educational program, project or event management and/or volunteer management is preferred.

**Knowledge/ Skills**:

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
- Experience with learning management systems such as Moodle and/ or customer relationship management (CRM) systems such as Salesforce or Raiser’s Edge is considered an asset.
- Current driver’s license and access to a vehicle required as some local travel may be required.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent group facilitation, team coordination, and organizational skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with a proven track record of working with diverse stakeholders.

**COMPENSATION**:
The salary range for this position is $40,000-$50,000 annually. JA South Western Ontario also offers a comprehensive benefits plan.
