Local Dispatcher - Cambridge

**Requirements**:
- Dispatching or Prior Transportation Experience (minimum of 3 years)
- Geographical Experience (within Ontario)
- Experience with Calculating transit times (within Ontario)
- Good Negotiation and analytical skills, demonstrating good judgement
- Ability to prioritize workload, complete tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong Organizational and Time Management skills
- Strong Communication of English Language (read/write/verbal)
- Attention to detail when completing documentation and providing instructions
- Strong Customer service focus
- Ability to adapt to change in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work with mínimal supervision, and as a part of a team.
- Experience with Microsoft Office programs
- Reliable mode of transportation to our Cambridge Location
**About the Role**:
- Direct point of contact for drivers in day-to-day tasks, providing clear instructions/directions.
- Scheduling Driver and Monitoring Hours of Service
- Utilize and Maximize Revenue potential on company assets
- Communicate with other departments regarding maintenances, accounting and HR needs.
- Tracking and Tracing (Exceed customer on-time pick-up and delivery expectations; proactive analysis to prevent service failures)
- Building Customer Relationships (Consistent and professional communications; effective, prompt and courteous communications with respect to difficult situations, resolve discrepancies, relaying service failures, organic growth on customer lanes/freight opportunities etc.)
- Building Driver and Carrier Relationships (Productive driver and carrier relationship development, handling and management of difficult situations, etc.)
- Confirm and monitor shipments, including scheduling of future and same day shipments, reacting to any urgent changes and to ensure on-time pickup/deliveries
- Verify accuracy of shipping documents received from shippers
- Communicate and encourage feedback from drivers to optimize routes, and ensure positive relationship with customer.
- Perform clerical duties such as filing, typing, copying, faxing, etc.
