Business Development Representative

Barrier Group is an industrial company that services the Oil & Gas Industry across Western Canada. Based out of Stony Plain, Alberta, we provide services such as Field Coatings, Tank Coatings, Welding, Pipeline Construction, and Integrity work.

**Scope and Responsibilities**
Reporting to the company’s upper management, the Business Development Representative will play a key role in driving the growth of the organization’s pipeline integrity and construction services divisions.
**Specific Responsibilities**
This is a critical role in Barrier Group’s continued success and growth. The role is accountable for the following:
- Prospecting and introduction of Barrier Group to new and developing clients;
- Build and enhance relationship with new and existing First Nations partners;
- Working directly with Management team to develop short
- and long-term sales actions and strategies to find new client leads & directed business opportunities;
- Drive each element of the services sales cycle, including prospecting initiatives, and closing sales;
- Develop effective, creative, and customized presentations to bundle service offerings that effectively convey the Company's capabilities;
- Make site visits, and cultivate relationships with new clients and key stakeholders;
- Work with current and prospective clients to identify their needs and provide solutions;
- Deliver information sessions, lunch & learns to prospective new clients;
- Network and build relationships by attending conferences, meetings and industry events;
- Monitoring new client satisfaction level pertaining to services provided by Barrier Group.
**Education**
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in a relevant field is an asset;
- Significant industry experience would be considered in lieu of formal education.
**Experience**
- Minimum of three years of experience selling to oil and gas industry clients in Western Canada;
- Experience in B2B “Hunter” sales role working with a structured sales management methodology in a fast paced, ever-changing environment with constant multiple priorities and deadlines;
- Proven track-record in successful B2B (business to business) sales;
- Demonstrated network of clients which can lead to immediate opportunities;
- Strong background of strategic account pursuit with experience selling complex business solutions;
- Experience with providing enterprise sales solutions;
- Previous experience with Industrial Construction, Sandblasting/Coating would be considered a necessity;
- Strong prospecting, client development, full sales cycle skills are a must;
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain field level & mid-business relationships;
- Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record; and,
- Above average capabilities with productivity Microsoft tools (e.g. Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.).

- Ability to establish contacts and credibility with executive level management decision makers;
- Expert ability to lead and drive results via remote meeting environment;
- Self-motivated, critical thinker with a proven ability to execute strategic sales plans;
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to develop strong relationships, and an ability to participate positively in an engaging culture;
- Must be a dependable self-starter, with the ability to work independently;
- Highly effective communicator with and ability to manage matrix Client organizations accordingly;
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, with excellent time management skills;
- Strong client focus, with demonstrated ability to deliver on sales targets; and,
- Travel between 60%+, territory in Western Canada

- Compensation will be a Base salary + Commission.
