The Policy and Research Analyst is a full-time position that provides support to the Executive Director in the oversight and management of Research priorities, Policy development and working within the partnership with the University of Winnipeg's NEIHR program.

As an employee of the Manitoba Association of Friendship Centres, the Policy and Research Analyst is responsible for adhering to the policies and direction as determined by the Board of Directors of MAFC, and under the direct supervision of the Executive Director.

**Policy and Research Analyst Duties**:

- Implement the Research and Policy workplan as identified by the Board of Directors, the Policy and Constitution Committee and the Executive Director as required.
- Conduct research, surveys, analyses, and compile data.
- Liaise with identified stakeholders including Friendship Centre Executive Directors, the National Association of Friendship Centres (NAFC) Data Strategy and the University of Winnipeg NEIHR Grant partnership, etc.
- Provide technical support to MAFC Committees, specifically the Policy and Constitution Committee and other working groups as required.
- Attend meetings on behalf of the Association as required.
- Preparation of briefing notes and meeting reports.
- Generation of reports and data analysis.
- Maintain program records and create reports and proposals as required.
- Support program growth and strategies for program development.
- Ensure appropriate implementation of MAFC program policies and practices.
- Manage related communications.
- Assist in the administration of office functions and all other duties as assigned and directed.
- Represent MAFC on external committees as assigned.

**Requirements**:

- Knowledge of research and policy development.
- Understanding of budgeting, bookkeeping and financial reporting.
- Proficient in all office functions - MS Office.
- Awareness of current and historic issues relating to urban Indigenous people;
- Ability to work with diverse, multi-disciplinary teams.
- Ability to manage time with mínimal supervision.
- Leadership and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Excellent problem-solving ability.

**Preferences**:

- Bachelor's degree in political studies, political science, social services or related field
- Experience working with public and/or orgnaizational policy
