**Position Reports to**: President

**Hours of Work**:Full-time, Monday-Friday. Occasionally, evening and/or weekend hours may be necessary to accommodate business demands and position requirements.

**We are looking for a dynamic, versatile Communications and Member Services Manger to join the OPMA team and help us connect people and information in the fresh produce industry. It is a full-time, 18-month contract position covering for parental leave.

This is a unique opportunity to use your diverse skill set from website content management and digital engagement through to virtual and in-person event planning.

**Your new role**

The Communications and Member Services Manager plays a key role in fostering a culture of community across the OPMA membership through the development and implementation of timely information, engaging education sessions and premier industry networking and professional development events.

Reporting to the President, the Communications and Member Services Manager is responsible for developing, implementing and overseeing the Ontario Produce Marketing Association’s (OPMA) internal and external communications strategy; managing marketing initiatives and industry events; developing opportunities for growth and engagement; and productively managing internal and external relationships with stakeholders.

As Communications and Member Services Manager, you will also be responsible for raising awareness of the OPMA within the industry and with consumer media as well as for some oversight of our consumer platform, Produce Made Simple.

The Communications and Member Services Manager must collaborate with the President and OPMA staff, and coordinate with partners and sponsors to ensure all communications and member services are aligned with, and contribute to the OPMA mission to facilitate trade and promote consumption of produce.

**Key responsibilities**
- Develop, implement and evaluate the OPMA annual consumer and member communications plans including an annual budget
- Ensure the execution of events, communications and marking initiatives is accomplished within budget.
- Actively identify new opportunities, plans, approaches and/or methods of providing greater member value.
- Review and analyze commodity and sponsor outcome reports, quarterly, to identify opportunities for strategic improvement and organizational growth.
- Develop and implement regular member and media content for OPMA website and social media accounts. Maintain the design and functionality of OPMA website
- Develop and manage social advertising and provide social media expertise to members as required.
- Plan, promote, implement and evaluate member networking and professional development events including sponsor recognition.
- Support the development of event sponsorship activities to promote the OPMA and grow membership.
- Oversee the design of all external reports and communications
- Work with the Communications and Member Services Specialist on the implementation and maintenance of the OPMA’s consumer facing campaign program, Produce Made Simple (PMS).
- Support the delivery of the annual review and member value brochures for prospective and renewing members.
- Manage effective distribution and presentation of consumer and market data reports to members and snapshots to the media. Maintain relationship with service provider including providing feedback on improvements to ensure member value.
- Attend member engagement and stakeholder meetings as required. This may require occasionally working outside regular working hours and travel within Ontario.
- Manage the Women’s Produce Network/Committee by scheduling meetings, events and developing meeting agendas.
- Support the Social Responsibility Committee by assisting the Chair with meetings, and managing projects.
- Support Government Relations Consultant and Committee by participating in committee discussions, assisting in the facilitation of meetings with government officials, facility tours and maintaining up to date contact lists.
- Assist with the Young Professionals Network/Committee as needed.
- Regularly pitch and write articles for industry and consumer media.
- Build, foster and sustain productive and trusting working relationships with key external stakeholders.
- Take an active role in OPMA team activities and actively contribute to a positive workplace culture.
- Strive to ensure high levels of membership satisfaction and a strong reputation for the association.

To be successful in this role, you will need to be able to take initiative and think outside the box as well as juggle multiple demands on a daily basis.
