The BC Liquor Distribution Branch (LDB) is one of two branches of government that provide oversight for the beverage alcohol and non-medical cannabis industries in the province. The LDB is responsible for the wholesale distribution of liquor and cannabis, and operates the retails brands BCLIQUOR and BC Cannabis Stores.

The LDB is committed to government’s goals of making life better for people in B.C., improving services, and ensuring a sustainable province for future generations. Corporate Operations at the BCLDB includes our Corporate Loss Prevention, Real Estate departments and Corporate Audit. Real Estate manages all activities related to the leasing, construction, renovation, and facilities management of all new and existing LDB facilities, including head office, distribution centres, and all BC Liquor and BC Cannabis retail locations. The Corporate Loss Prevention department ensures the security of all BCLDB assets through physical security management as well as an investigative team. Corporate Audit strives to be a strategic partner in the BCLDB by providing advisory, risk and assurance services.

**About this role**:
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Corporate Audit or on a project basis to the Senior Corporate Auditors, the Corporate Auditor is responsible for conducting low to medium complexity audits, and contributing, as a team member, to more complex audits, to ensure the integrity of the LDB’s financial, operational and information system-related internal controls. To achieve objectives, the position works with a wide network of internal and external contacts. A criminal record check is required.

Special requirements and working conditions include the ability to travel overnight within the Province of British Columbia and a valid driver’s license is mandatory, with the ability to drive within the Province of British Columbia.

A successful completion of a criminal record check is required.

**Position requirements**:
**Education and Experience**:

- Canadian professional designation (i.e., Chartered Professional Accountant, Certified Internal Auditor, or Certified Information Systems Auditor) preferred. Please note that for applicants without a professional accounting designation, as a condition of employment you must agree to work towards and obtain a designation within four years. If your CPA designation was obtained from outside of Canada, you will need to confirm it has been assessed for equivalency through an applicable Canadian Accounting Association.
- **One year of recent, related experience (having occurred in the last 2 years) with internal or external audits, compliance, risk management, quality assurance, or internal controls.**:

- Experience in the beverage alcohol industry or a large (multi-site), supply chain environment.
