Habitat for Humanity - Halton-Mississauga-Dufferin (Habitat HMD) is a charitable, non-profit housing provider that serves the communities of Halton, Mississauga, and Dufferin. We are one of numerous Habitat affiliates operating in Canada. Our mission is “to empower lower income, working families to build strength, stability, and independence by providing affordable housing that enables financial equity and lasting change.” Our housing model fills an important gap in the housing continuum - it provides a “pathway to home ownership.” By providing families with access to equity-generating affordable housing options, Habitat is making vital efforts to help combat the housing crisis in Canada.

Opportunity

This role will work to increase the value of donated products and drive ReStore sales by cleaning, decorating, and displaying products to their full potential. Assisting with curating and enhancing merchandising, pricing, and overall shopping experience across all our locations. They will maintain high standards of merchandising excellence within the Habitat HMD ReStore environment. Collaborating closely with a dedicated team of volunteers and managers, this role will be at the forefront of crafting an elevated ReStore shopping experience.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assist with sorting, organizing, and pricing products
- Research retail prices of popular and common products to ensure competitive pricing structure.
- Solicit feedback on pricing from employees and volunteers.
- Work closely with the warehouse team and management to create displays and room settings.
- Assist the Customer Service Desk by answering phone inquiries and processing sales transactions as needed.
- Collaborate with the Customer Service Coordinators to address pricing discrepancies and other sales floor requirements.
- Ensure that all signage is accurate, properly placed, and in accordance with the updated ReStore floor plan.
- Always represent Habitat HMD with a positive and passionate attitude.

Core Qualifications:
Qualifications, Education, and Experience:

- Experience in a retail environment, including roles in customer service, visual merchandising, pricing, and inventory management.
- Post-secondary education or certifications in retail management, business administration, or visual merchandising or a related field is an asset.

- Strong organizational and problem solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Detail oriented with a focus on accuracy and consistency
- Proficient in using standard office software, documentation tools, and common social media apps
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and handle multiple tasks simultaneously

Working Conditions:

- Long periods of standing.
- Lifting up to 50lbs.
- Occasional work at multiple ReStore locations.
