Merchandise Donations Coordinator

Habitat for Humanity - Halton-Mississauga-Dufferin (Habitat HMD) is a charitable, non-profit housing provider that serves the communities of Halton, Mississauga, and Dufferin. Opportunity

The Merchandise Donations Coordinator will play a crucial role in supporting the procurement process, ensuring the efficient acquisition of goods and services necessary for our organization's operations. This position will utilize strong communication skills and excellent attention to detail, and will collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
Vendor Management
- Maintain a comprehensive vendor database, including contact information, performance metrics, and contract details.
- Negotiate contracts and agreements with vendors to secure favorable terms.

Purchase Order Processing
- Generate and manage purchase orders accurately and in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with various departments to gather purchasing requirements and specifications.
- Ensure compliance with organizational procurement policies and procedures.

Supplier Relationship Management
- Build and maintain positive relationships with suppliers to enhance collaboration and resolve any issues that may arise.
- Monitor supplier performance and conduct regular reviews to ensure adherence to contractual obligations.

Inventory Control
- Implement and maintain inventory tracking systems to monitor stock movements and reorder points.

Cost Analysis and Budgeting
- Assist in the development and monitoring of departmental budgets related to procurement activities.

Compliance and Risk Management
- Stay informed about relevant laws and regulations affecting procurement.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
- Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with procurement activities.
- Always represent Habitat HMD with a positive and passionate attitude.

Core Qualifications:
Qualifications, Education, and Experience:

- Post-secondary education in a relevant field such as Business Administration, Sales, or Marketing is an asset
- Previous experience in procurement, sales, or a related field
- Experience in cold calling, face-to-face sales, and business development.
- Familiarity with nonprofit organizations and donation procurement is an asset.
- Class G driver’s license and access to reliable transportation to and from other ReStore locations.

- Proficient in using procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards in procurement.

Working Conditions:

- Travel to various businesses, warehouses, and distribution centers on a regular basis, which may include exposure to the elements.
- Ability to bend, squat, and climb stairs and lift frequently.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
