Our team in Ontario currently has an opportunity for an **Engagement Specialist **with experience consulting with the public, private businesses, government agencies and Indigenous Nations to develop projects with appropriate consideration given to their opinions and viewpoints. You will utilize your expertise in coordination and communication to facilitate all aspects of meetings with these groups, from the development of presentation materials to the logistics of booking venues, to delivering presentations, to collecting and analyzing feedback and collaborative input to guide the development of projects, their associated studies, and potential impact mitigation strategies. You will rely on your knowledge of various stakeholder tracking software solutions to record feedback and generate reports for the use of project teams. **What you can expect to do here**:

- You will develop and implement communication and stakeholder engagement strategies for projects in a variety of sectors including transportation, mining and energy resources.
- You will oversee and facilitate stakeholder meetings, public events, community liaison committees, community pop-up events and virtual meetings.
- You will lead consultation efforts with Indigenous Nations, which may involve interfacing with WSP’s engineering teams to develop plain language project descriptions and presenting them to Indigenous Nations to solicit feedback and develop collaborative plans for projects to progress while respecting the values and rights of Indigenous People and Nations.
- You will coordinate logistics for meetings with stakeholder and partners, as well as attend such meetings, prepare presentations and take meeting minutes.
- You will build and enhance relationships with Indigenous Nations, the public, project partners, and stakeholders.
- You will be responsible for writing reports and technical memos and stakeholder engagement plans.
- Your work will be highly collaborative, supporting participation of Indigenous Nations and other stakeholder in the Environmental Assessment and permitting process.
- You will ensure health and safety policies are followed and be a role model for WSP's Life Saving and corporate values. You will primarily be home/office-based but may need to travel for short-duration trips and events.

**What you'll bring to WSP...**
- Bachelor or Master’s degree in environmental studies, environmental science, environmental engineering, or a related discipline
- A knowledge of **Indigenous **history, culture and governance.
- A knowledge of the Canadian regulatory and policy context, including leading practice in **Indigenous **engagement **and participation.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written. Knowledge of an **Indigenous **language would be an asset. Knowledge of both English and French would be an asset;
- Experience working on complex projects and working with multi-disciplinary teams.
- Experience with building client relationships
