**JOB OVERVIEW**

As a member of the Fundraising Communications team at the Canadian Cancer Society (CCS), the **Fundraising** **Communications and Story Centre Coordinator** supports fundraising communications efforts and storytelling at CCS. Reporting to the Manager, Fundraising Communications, the role provides writing, communications and media relations support for CCS’s revenue generating programs including signature events, corporate giving and mass marketing.

This role is ideal for a results-driven tactical communicator with strong writing skills, proven relationship building abilities and experience in project management and media relations.

**WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING**:

- Write compelling, donor-centric communications and earned media materials such as media advisories, releases, pitches, key messages, toolkits and more
- Support in the execution of media relations campaigns through pitching, coordinating interviews and media training spokespeople
- Support management of requests for storytellers by internal stakeholders including providing storyteller recommendations and tracking story usage
- Project manage content approvals and sharing between internal and external stakeholders such as storytellers in a timely, collaborative and professional manner
- Interview, write and edit compelling story content for in-house storytelling program, and arrange video and photo shoots as required
- Monitor media for select CCS fundraising campaigns, analyze campaign results, and contribute to overall campaign feedback
- Provide administrative support to the Fundraising Communications team on projects as required
- Ongoing relationship building with internal and external stakeholders
- Actively contribute to our culture of justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion by encouraging dialogue that respectfully considers a wide variety of ideas, opinions, and suggestions.

**EDUCATION &

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Post-secondary degree or diploma in communications, public relations, journalism or related field and 2 years of experience in media relations or communications, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience in communications strategy and tactics, including media and public relations
- Exceptional oral and written skills
- Superb organizational, project and time management, problem-solving and analytical skills
- Demonstrated flexibility, resourcefulness, resiliency and the willingness and capacity to produce quality results to deadline
- Proficiency in Microsoft tools including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams and SharePoint
- Positive attitude along with ability to self-motivate, work independently, and contribute to the positive culture of the team
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build and sustain positive relationships
- Experience with storytelling and interviewing people on their personal stories is an asset
- Experience with media monitoring (Meltwater and MRP), reporting and analysis is an asset
- Experience in a health-related environment, cancer organization or non-profit setting is an asset
