Office located in Ottawa; hybrid or remote work arrangements a possibility

Job Summary

Mandate:

The Community Broadcasters Foundation of Canada was formed by the Community Radio Fund of Canada (CRFC) to increase philanthropic support for the community radio sector. The Fundraising Director is an exciting opportunity to support building a new organization from the ground up. This new part-time position will work with the foundation board of directors and the CRFC to secure funds so that the foundation can support the community radio sector and become self-sustaining in the near future. The Fundraising Director reports to the board of directors of the Community Broadcasters Foundation of Canada.

The Fundraising Director will be responsible for developing relationships with major funders, including meeting any reporting requirements, and ensuring that funds are expended for the agreed-upon project, program or purpose.

In addition, the Fundraising Director will help develop a comprehensive fundraising plan for the foundation, including the eventual cultivation of individual major gifts and a legacy giving program. This position will also ensure that all reporting and tax-receipting – as per the ethical standards of fundraising professionals and legal requirements of the Canada Revenue Agency – are being met.

This role will be required to work independently and professionally, demonstrating a high level of initiative while being in an environment where flexibility and multitasking are essential.

Job Expectations

We value various life experiences and are looking for candidates with a combination of education, training, and experience that aligns with the role’s requirements. This could include a Bachelor’s degree and approximately five years of relevant fundraising experience or an equivalent mix of education, training, and experience that equips you for success in this position.
