**Position Overview**:
The City of Spruce Grove is looking for a permanent full-time Operator-Utilities. This position is responsible for the operation of facilities, pumping facilities, vehicles and equipment in accomplishing all operations and maintenance tasks assigned in the delivery of programs and services in the Utilities division of the city. The incumbent will perform all tasks directly related to, or in support of core operations and maintenance programs including the water distribution system, water reservoirs and pump stations, bulk water station, water meters and the sanitary sewer collection system. This position reports to the Manager of Utilities and the Foreman of Utilities.

- Wastewater Collection Maintenance and Service
- Maintenance of vehicles, equipment and hand tools.

- High School Diploma or GED.
- Certificate of completion for NAIT Water and Wastewater Technology (or equivalent).
- One (1) year experience in the tasks and operation of equipment.
- Alberta Environment and Parks Water and Wastewater Certification Level 1 Water Distribution (Level 2 certification preferred).
- Alberta Environment and Parks Water and Wastewater Certification Level 1 Wastewater Collection (Level 2 certification preferred).
- Formal equipment operations training and/or underground construction experience is an asset.
- Advanced communication skills and excellent presentation skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent collaborative negotiation and problems solving skills
- Highly developed level of interpersonal skills and diplomacy to interact with a variety of internal and external clients
- Ability to work effectively and professionally with all levels within the organization and externally
- Proven ability to learn and adapt quickly, in diverse areas such as political analysis, communications and project management
- Ability to effectively transfer ideas, concepts, and information into effective and efficient strategies
- Ability to develop, implement and evaluate innovative plans
