The R&D Manager of Thermoforming is the principal leader of all new product development and cost savings initiatives in the department. In order to successfully implement process controls across a 24/7 production facility, you must train technicians in each shift who can ensure the process parameters and quality of the product follows the Hofmann Standard.

Duties and responsibilities:

- Develop and optimize the thermoforming process for new and existing Hofmann products;
- Design new molds and tooling for new and existing products;
- Design and implement a plan to increase efficiency for thermoforming machines;
- Design and lead cost savings initiatives for existing Hofmann thermoforming products;
- Oversee the training and development of technicians to operate thermoforming machines.

**EDUCATION**:
A Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering or related Engineering discipline.

**EXPERIENCE & OTHER REQUIREMENTS**:

- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Thermoforming Tooling and Plastics Processing;
- Possesses strong mechanical knowledge of all plastic molding and thermoforming equipment and machinery;
- Demonstrated knowledge and practical ability to change molds and inserts in a thermoforming machine;
- Ability to optimize Thermoforming Process Parameters to produce semi rigid polypropylene (PP) and Polyethylene terephthalate (PET) Plastics;
- Ability to design and develop Production Quality Thermoforming molds and inserts for new polypropylene containers;
- Comprehension of the injection molding process.

**Salary**: $115,000.00-$130,000.00 per year
