**About Us**
As part of the Newfoundland and Labrador Health Services, the Digital Health division provides quality information to health professionals, the public, researchers, and health system decision makers. Through collaboration with the health system, we support the development of data and technical standards, maintain key health databases, carry out analytics and evaluation, and support health research. We support healthcare within Newfoundland and Labrador, including patients and communities through the delivery of information technology (IT) and digital health services applied in the healthcare system to provide quality care. Our mandate includes the development and implementation of a confidential and secure provincial electronic health record as well as other provincial clinical information programs, including the change management required to support adoption by end user clinicians.

**About the Role**
Reporting to the Director, Health Information Standards and Quality, you will be accountable for managing and leading the promotion and facilitation of provincial adoption of international, national, and provincial clinical administrative data standards. Specifically, you will be responsible for:

- Managing and planning the clinical/administrative and clinical documentation standards and quality activities of the Digital Health Division by developing operational plans and ensuring alignment with the strategic plan.
- Participating in strategic planning and establishing strategic goals and objectives for the Division; monitoring and ensuring objectives are met.
- Identifying standards development needs; developing and implementing a process to address those needs.
- Establishing effective and efficient data management processes and workflows to support provincial clinical/administrative information systems and related datasets.
- Providing support and direction to provincial information systems planning, implementation and sustainment initiatives, including eHealth solution design, implementation, and integration.
- Managing human resources by participating in recruitment and selection, performance management and ongoing coaching and mentoring.
- Overseeing budget planning and financial management of the Division by ensuring compliance with financial policies and procedures and through advice and direction from the Finance Department.

**About You**

Your education and experience include:

- Undergraduate degree in health information management, health informatics, or another health profession.
- Minimum of five years' experience working in a progressively responsible role in a clinical, information management, or health informatics environment.
- Experience in people management, including leading teams and assigning resources.
- Common health standards (international, national, and provincial).
- Standards development organizations (SDO) processes and products.
- Clinical documentation standards and assessment tools.
- Continuous quality improvement processes and techniques.

- Knowledge of current trends and practices in clinical documentation standards and quality activities.
- Ability to coach and mentor staff for optimal performance and professional growth.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Superior communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders.
- Good judgment, with the ability to build consensus amongst different stakeholder groups.
- Excellent organization, planning, and time-management skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to take initiative and work independently.

It would be an asset if you have:

- Canadian Health Information Management Association (CHIMA) membership
- Completion of a recognized program for health information management professionals.
