General Sales Manager

Fines Ford Lincoln has an immediate need for a **General Sales Manager**. We are a 37-year-old family-owned & operated dealership in Bolton, who has an established reputation in the growing community of Caledon.
The GSM is responsible for the day-to-day management of the Sales department, including the new & used vehicle departments and Financial Services. In this key role, the GSM is responsible for the profitable operation of the vehicle sales department by meeting or exceeding sales and customer satisfaction targets.
This is a challenging hands-on position that requires direct involvement and leadership in all aspects of the department. The successful incumbent is someone who enjoys managing and developing a team that meets monthly sales goals.
This role reports to the General Manager and is required to work flexible hours Monday - Saturday.
**Responsibilities **(including but not exclusive to):
- Develop and execute a strategic plan to achieve sales targets and expand the customer base.
- Provide regular, routine updates to the General Manager on traffic, sales and closing ratios.
- Aid in the development of advertising campaigns and other promotions, and monitor their effectiveness.
- Inventory management - aged inventory, dealer trades, ordering and wholesaling
- Evaluate customer vehicle trade-ins using V-Auto
- Work with Accounting department to accurately claim incentives & commission all deals
- Ensure all Sales Consultants are following the dealership’s sales process step-by-step and ensuring that all customers are turned over to the Financial Services Office.
- Train and develop Sales Consultants to assist guests, answer questions, structure deals.
- Responsible for the department schedule to ensure proper coverage on the salesfloor.
- Forecast aggressive yet realistic monthly goals for Salespeople and provide them with the support to meet these goals
- Exceed group Customer Experience Index (CEI) target and ensure that any client concerns are handled in an efficient & appropriate manner.
- Manage the Financial Services Department to develop and coordinate best practices for the most efficient and effective sales approach.
- Remain knowledgeable of the manufacturer’s current product, program and promotional events, and/or those of the financial institutions. Notify the sales team of any changes so that they are up to date on all information.
- Ensure that salespeople are informed of all new inventory and current advertising efforts, including rebates and incentives.
- Ensure Sales Consultants are up to date on all mandatory manufacturer training.
- Manage the appearance of the lot so that the new and used inventory is well maintained, presentable and organized.
**Qualifications and Experience**
- Minimum of 3 years of previous sales management experience in the automotive industry
- Experience with domestic automotive brands
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid Ontario G Driver’s License with a clean drivers abstract
- Valid OMVIC registration
- Comfort using DealerSocket, DeskIt, PBS, SnapCell
