**Position purpose**:
Reporting to the Manager, Academic Support Unit, based on best practices and current research in the field, helps design and coordinate the section’s educational programs. More specifically, the incumbent evaluates, implements and manages the development of the university teaching and academic success programs. Teaches courses on methodology, manages academic success programs for at-risk students, and writes resources for teachers. Assists both students and professors, thereby contributing to academic retention and the quality of the student experience.

**In this role, your responsibilities will include**:
**Teaching and Training**: In collaboration with faculties and professors, prepares and delivers academic methodology courses following a universal design model for learning.

**Academic Programming Development**: creates academic methodology instructional resources with the changing needs of students in mind. Also contributes to the development of employee training materials with the goal of fostering collaborative learning.

**Student Mentor/Student Advisor Team Supervision**: coordinates and trains a team of part-time employees to meet the needs of students at risk of academic failure, whether to support student mentoring, summer and winter orientation, or the Center for Academic Writing Assistance (CARTU).

**Collaboration**: participates in internal (such as SASS communication committees) and external (such as committees organized by Service Excellence) consultation committees and task forces involving various departments and faculties. Contributes to the achievement of the goals of the Academic Support Unit and SASS in collaboration with the Head of SASS-Academic Support.

**What you will bring**:
Graduate degree (Master’s in Education or equivalent experience)

Two years’ work experience in providing services to students in a university setting

Experience as a tutor, mentor or teacher

Knowledge of methodological principles used in university teaching, acquired through postsecondary teaching experience

Outstanding interpersonal skills and leadership qualities

Analytical, research and critical thinking skills, with ability to synthesize information

Ability to work independently and as a team member

Ability to give and receive feedback

Availability to work on a flexible schedule that includes evenings and weekends, sometimes with no notice, based on the operational requirements of the service

Bilingualism — French and English (excellent written and oral communication skills in both languages)
