**The opportunity**:
Under the general direction of Vice-Dean, Indigenous Health, Social Justice & Anti-Racism, the Director of Equity, Access & Participation role will champion the pillars of Social Justice principles within the work and learning environments.
**The qualifications and experience we’re looking for**:
- Master's degree in relevant area (Business, Humanities, Social Science or related); with demonstrated experience in Equity, Access and Participation program development, human resources administration or an acceptable equivalent combination required.
- A minimum of 8 years' experience in EAP administration and practice, experience working in a public sector environment, including experience in academic (university) administration is strongly preferred.
- Progressive HR generalist experience is essential.
- Must understand the history, demographics and workplace needs of sustemically excluded groups such as Women, Indigenous People, Racially marginalized Communities, disabled peoples, 2SLGBTQIA+ People of various Religions, Faiths and Creeds, Immigrants and Newcomers, Multiple Generations, etc.)
- Must understand the multiple theoretical and practical approaches to the advancement of equity through different sectors and disciplines (i.e. Equity and Human Rights, Health Equity, Anti-oppression Practice).
- Must have excellent communication and problem solving skills, including the ability to deal effectively with individuals at all levels of the University required.
- Must be able to communicate respectfully and effectively with multiple groups within a diverse workforce and society (e.g. Women, Indigenous People, members of racially marginalized Communities, People with Disabilities, 2SLGBTQIA+, People of various Religions, Faiths and Creeds, Immigrants and Newcomers, Multiple Generations, etc).
- Must understand and use appropriately current -equity terminology.
- Must stay abreast of current research on social justice issues and emerging trends in social justice.
- Must understand the role played by cultural competence in workplace interactions.
- Be familiar with strategies to embed cultural competence concepts in policies, guidelines and practices.
- Must demonstrate an ability to adapt style when faced with myriad dimensions of culture in order to be effective across cultural contexts.
- Must act ethically and with integrity.
- Demonstrated experience working with Human Resource Information and eRecruitment Systems an asset.
- Satisfactory work record, including satisfactory attendance and punctuality, is required.
- CCIP Designation considered an asset.
