**Description**

Molex is looking for a Key Account Manager for the geographic region encompassing the Detroit and Toronto metro regions. The position will focus on the automotive market segment and is responsible for the development and implementation of sales strategies to maintain existing business and identify opportunities for growth to exceed annual sales goals. This individual is responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with the Industrial channel partners and Industrial end users & OEM’s and ensuring a high level of customer service and satisfaction. Expectations include broadening the automotive line builder & machine builder customer base by finding and penetrating new targets for Molex’s Industrial products. Looking for a self-motivated individual who can successfully manage and prioritize own workload with mínimal direct supervision, quick to learn new technology, and driven to pursue new business.

**What You Will Do In Your Role**:

- Owns the account strategy within assigned Industrial accounts and communicates to extended teams on an account-by-account basis.
- Establishes strong relationships at all organizational levels within the customer base and understands customers’ processes, business drivers and organizational models.
- Follows the Molex sales process using SalesForce platform and knows assigned accounts, plans for growth, maintains a healthy opportunity funnel, drives opportunities to closure and evaluates performance to goal.
- Understands automotive industry and/or OEM segment, customer, and Molex/partner capabilities
- Proactively collaborates with the North America Product Managers and Business Development Team.
- Qualifies customer opportunities, engages the appropriate resources, and coordinates the solution design to impact the customer’s decision process and presents solutions to the customer (value proposition).
- Coordinates Molex account team, senior management, and a technical engagement team (domain experts) to plan for and win identified opportunities.
- Teams with corporate Contracts and Negotiations group to come to terms with customers.
- Negotiates pricing, discounts, and allowances through distributor. Supports inside sales team with information to enable accurate and profitable quoting.
- Supports customer/internal account reviews.
- Sets and helps manage internal/external partner expectations.
- Ensures thorough familiarity with company policies and procedures. Appropriately applies policies and procedures in compliance with government laws. Policies and procedures include, but not limited to Standards of Business Conduct, Intellectual Property, Control Environment, Information Protection, ISO 9000 & 14000, government regulations (e.g. health, safety, quality and environmental).

- Bachelor's degree or relevant equivalent experience.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to travel locally greater than 30% of time. Geography includes Detroit and Toronto areas.
- Prior experience in technical sales, industrial distribution, manufacturing operations, systems integration, or an engineering firm.

**What Will Put You Ahead**:

- Bachelor of Science degree in an Engineering discipline or Business Management. Additional business-related degree/experience preferred.
- Prior experience with machine builders, line builders and/or the industrial automation sector is preferred.
- Experience working with all levels of an industrial automation plant including VPs, plant engineers and OEM machine builders.
