**Salary**: The salary range for this position is CAD $24.76/Hr. - CAD $32.50/Hr.
Summary:
Reporting to the Executive Director, Medical Affairs and receiving work direction from the Credentialing Coordinator, the Credentialing Assistant:

- produces a variety of queries, reports and documents from the system as required for departmental and organizational decision-making purposes
- performs other clerical and administrative work for the Director and department as required

What You Bring:
**Education**
Graduation from a diploma program in a medical office administration or business administration field plus two (2) years of recent, related experience preferably in a health care setting or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Credentialing and medical staff services experience is preferred. Knowledge of the CACTUS Credentialing system would be an asset.

**Skills and Abilities**
- Ability to establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent time management skills to initiate, coordinate, organize and complete multiple tasks with accuracy and within specified timelines.
- Demonstrated personal flexibility including the ability to manage transitions from task to task effectively and adapt to varying needs.
- Demonstrated reliability, motivation and dedicated work ethic.
- Demonstrated strong attention to detail, is alert to sensitive information, follows detailed procedures, ensures accuracy in documentation and data, and regularly produces accurate, thorough work.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with a client-focussed approach including the ability to manage conflict and respond diplomatically to both internal and external inquiries.
- Intermediate proficiency with standard MS Office Suite (including Word, Excel, Access, Outlook and PowerPoint).
- Demonstrated aptitude in learning new software and systems.
- Ability to keyboard at 60 wpm. Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.

**Your Day to Day**:
The Credentialing Assistant:

- Confirms Medical Staff status by contacting internal and/or external sources.
- Performs data entry into software system from source documents and makes corrections as needed.
- Ensures data completion and integrity by noting deficiencies in information provided and searching out missing items.
- Collects and prepares data for various statistical reports and generates reports as requested.
- Sets up and maintains filing systems for medical staff personnel files.
- Prepares correspondence, spreadsheets and/or other materials using standard office software from dictation, draft and/or verbal instruction.
- Participates in departmental meetings related to the system as required.
- Provides back up for other administrative personnel as required.
- Exercises considerable judgment, tact and discretion in preparing, disclosing and handling information of a confidential and/or sensitive nature.
- Liaises in a professional and courteous manner with Managers/Directors and staff to gather and disseminate information.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
