Our work involves making strategic investments, leveraging new funding, and building on critical partnerships to help further position ourselves to meet current and future housing challenges.

**About Our Opportunity**:
Reporting directly to the Program Manager, the Coordinator of Project Management (CPM) is responsible for the delivery of inspection services for Housing Nova Scotia’s repair and adaptation programs, new construction projects and capital upgrades to existing government properties in the Northern Region, covering Pictou, Antigonish, Guysborough, Colchester and Cumberland counties. This includes the supervision, training and deployment of staff resources and monitoring and tracking outcomes to ensure priorities are established and targets are met.

**Primary Accountabilities**:
The CPM is an integral member of the Regional Housing Services management team and is responsible to ensure effective inspection, specification preparation and estimating requirements for properties receiving program funding. You will also coordinate, with the Property and Facilities Division, the development and implementation of capital budgets and improvement plans. Provides strategic technical advice for the Co-op and Non-Profit Housing Sector and is responsible for administration and management of major renovation, repair and regeneration contracts involving Department owned properties.

**Qualifications and Experience**:
You possess exceptional communication (written/verbal/active listening) and relationship building skills to maintain frequent contact with management, senior officials as well as with supervisory and technical staff. With strong time management skills, you can manage, track, and attend to multiple pieces of information, bringing order and clarity. Previous management experience, job cost estimating, and possessing the Red Seal Endorsement for a provincial or territorial certificate of qualification will be considered assets.

Leadership competencies required at this level of work are:
Analytical Thinking, Action Management, Team Leadership, Initiative, Effective Interactive Communication, Partnering and Relationship Building, and Intercultural and Diversity Proficiency.

We will assess the above qualifications and competencies using one or more of the following tools: written examination, standardized tests, oral presentations, interview(s), and reference checks.

**Equivalency**:
An equivalent combination of relevant training and experience will be considered. Related equivalencies include:

- Nine (9) years of direct related experience.
- A completed related 2 year diploma and seven (7) years of experience.

**Working Conditions**:
Work is performed in office environment. Occasionally you may need to move or lift objects such as boxes or files. You may be exposed to emotionally charged situations during the collection process. Travel is also required for this position.
