**About the Opportunity**:
Reporting to the Provincial Manager - Health Promotion, Mental Health and Addictions, the Program Administrative Officer - Health Promotion [PAO-HP] is responsible, in collaboration with NSHA health promotion colleagues and internal and external partners, for developing, implementing, monitoring and evaluating health promotion and prevention activities for Mental Health and Addictions including the advancement of substance use and gambling health promotion policy. The PAO-HP will play a critical role in implementing the Promoting Positive Mental Health Action Plan at the local, zonal, and provincial level.

**About You**:
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

- Bachelors degree in Health Promotion is required (or equivalent determined by the employer)
- Masters degree an asset
- Minimum three (3) years of experience in the health promotion field with focus on policy development, program design, implementation and evaluation
- Knowledge of best practices and research in the field of health promotion and substance use prevention
- Understanding of the research process and its role in evidence-based decision
- Superior coordination, presentation, facilitation, and project management skills
- Ability to manage multiple and simultaneous responsibilities and prioritize work is an asset
- Strong communication, interpersonal and collaborative skills to effectively work with multiple internal and external partners in a variety of settings in Nova Scotia Health Authority and the community
- Demonstrated skills in: health promotion, population health, community development, program planning, implementation and evaluation, social marketing
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
- Successful external applicants are required to provide a criminal record check (including Vulnerable Sector Search) to People Services before starting employment and assume any associated costs as a condition of employment

**Hours**:

- Permanent Full Time position; 70 hours bi-weekly
- Some travel throughout the zones may be required

**Compensation and Incentives**:
$31.85 - $40.22 hourly
