**Responsibilities**:
**Financial Reporting and Analysis**:
- Generate and analyze ad-hoc financial reports
- Drive process improvements with day-to-day financial tasks
- Perform balance sheet and bank reconciliations
- Conduct variance analysis and identify opportunities for cost savings
- Coordinate with Sales to track and manage vendor rebate programs
- Collaborate with AR and AP to investigate discrepancies and troubleshoot customer and vendor accounts
- Provide support with year-end audit
**Payroll Management**:
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive personnel records
- Review financial accuracy of bi-weekly payroll for hourly/salaried employees (Canada and US)
- Address payroll inquiries and discrepancies promptly
- Stay updated on legislative changes for payroll compliance
- Collaborate with HR to ensure accurate benefits deductions
- Prepare and submit payroll-related tax filings
**Qualifications**:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of progressive experience in Accounting and Payroll administration
- Excellent interpersonal & communication skills with a commitment to professional development
- Knowledge of Canadian and US payroll legislation and tax regulations (considered an asset)
- Strong Excel proficiency and experience with ERP and payroll systems (knowledge of Visual is an asset)
- Able to multi-task and prioritize effectively
- Critical thinker, willing to suggest process improvements
- Sound understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles
- Analytical mind with strong conceptual and problem-solving skills
- Meticulous attention to detail with excellent organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
