**Job description**:
The temporary Human Resources Generalist, under the direction of the CEO, is primarily responsible in aiding all Human Resources functions at Prairie Machine. The temporary HR Generalist is responsible for all HR administration, recruitment functions and provides support as requested by management which can include data entry, file maintenance and policy and procedure writing. This position will be a one year contract during the Human Resource Manager’s one year maternity leave.

Primary Responsibilities
- Answer employee questions regarding human resources
- Processing all HR data entry and system changes, including wage increase, internal transfers, and shift changes
- Prepare new hire paperwork, conduct orientation and on-board new employees
- Process terminations and off-boarding procedures
- File paper and electronic documents in appropriate employee files
- Provide support with Key Administration, Parking Plan, driver insurance and Organizational Chart updates
- Knowledge of company policies and procedures and possess the be ability to advise as appropriate
- Assist with preparation and management of performance reviews
- Oversee personnel management including wage increases, promotions, and disciplinary actions in compliance with company policies
- Conduct workplace investigations and resolve any conflicts that arise
- Oversee the Administration of the benefits plan including enrollments, claims and communications
- Maintain the highest level of confidentiality
- Perform other duties as assigned

- Follow prescribed safety standards, rules, and regulations, ensuring all workers comply
- Instill a safety culture, lead by example
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives
- Maintain a well-organized and clean facility as per Prairie Machine vision
- Maintain a healthy work environment and develop employees on a professional level

**Qualifications**:

- Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Commerce or equivalent experience and education - proven work experience will be considered
- 2-3 years of related experience
- Solid understanding of all related legislation and regulations
- Strong interpersonal & organizational skills
- Ability to maintain & manage confidential information
- Experience with MS Office, HRIS

**Job Type**: Fixed term contract

Contract length: 12 months

Expected hours: 40 per week

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday

Work Location: In person
