**Position Summary**:

- Work collaboratively with our product development team from ideation, all the way to techpack creation, and product testing.
- Be guided through the professional design development cycle while acknowledging all stakeholder’s perspectives.
- Will have the opportunity to generate innovative ideas to push the Sherwood brand to new heights, while also gaining exposure to the many product development teams outside of Sherwood, and gain an understanding of how product is developed in those spaces.

**What you’ll do**:

- Ideation: research, deconstructing and analyzing competitor samples, sketching, prototyping, communicating your ideas/findings
- Development: 3D modelling, creating/editing technical drawing packages in Adobe Illustrator, assist in communicating designs to manufacturers
- Assessment: analyzing/testing prototypes, conducting fit tests, logging synthesizing fit test data
- General design tasks: partaking in discussions regarding design related things: CMF, Graphics, Logos, Shape, Function, Etc.
- Will become familiar with the array of materials and manufacturing methods that are used in the development of protective sports equipment

**What you’ll bring**:

- Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program in industrial design, or a related discipline.
- Are confident with making physical prototypes (Ability to use a sewing machine is a plus)
- Efficient in Adobe Illustrator software (Photoshop is a plus)
- Efficient in Solidworks 3D modelling software (Keyhsot 3D rendering software is a plus)
- Have strong sketching and visual presentation skills
- Past experience in retail not required, but considered to be an asset
- Experience in the hockey industry and/or a passion for the sport of hockey an asset
- Including a portfolio is strongly preferred
