**Your opportunity**:
The Office of Inclusion and Diversity (OID) is part of Temerty Medicine’s Vice Dean, Strategy and Operations portfolio. The mandate of the OID is to support the Faculty’s commitment to lead in the area of equity, inclusion and diversity, and to create and promote innovative and accountable diversity and equity related programming in collaboration with other members of the Temerty Medicine and University of Toronto community as well as external partners, which include the Toronto Academic Health Sciences Network (TAHSN) and community organizations.

As Administrative and Project Coordinator, you will work closely with the Executive Assistant to oversee the day-to-day operational needs of the Office of Inclusion & Diversity (OID) and the Office of Indigenous Health (OIH) and support the advancement of the Associate Dean's priorities. You will also serve as a first point of contact for learners, faculty and staff to engage with OID and OIH on EDI related initiatives and programs. Your exceptional communication skills combined with your high degree of professionalism and independence will be essential to your success in this role.

**Your responsibilities will include**:

- Maintaining senior leadership calendars, scheduling appointments, coordinating travel arrangements and resolving scheduling conflicts
- Coordinating projects and strategic initiatives, including monitoring and reporting on project progress with senior leadership
- Supporting committees and working groups led by senior leadership team
- Drafting,editing and formatting correspondence, reports and presentations
- Fostering cooperative working relationships with a wide variety of internal and external contacts, stakeholders and community members

**Essential Qualifications**:

- Advanced College Diploma (3 years) or acceptable combination of equivalent experience
- Minimum five years' of relevant administrative experience supporting senior leaders and the advancement of strategic projects, preferably in a University or hospital environment
- A broad understanding of issues related to equity, diversity, inclusion, anti-oppression, discrimination, harassment, and Indigenous health and culture, and the impact of those issues as they relate to achieving a diverse and inclusive learning and work environment
- A strong understanding of culturally sensitive communication and experience dealing with highly sensitive and confidential matters is essential
- Experience maintaining effective working relationships with and between faculty, staff and learners belonging to the University community and external community groups
- Demonstrated experience providing dedicated administrative support to senior leadership, including calendar management, committee support and written correspondence
- Experience planning and coordinating events
- Analyzing administrative processes and procedures and recommending changes for improvement
- Advanced proficiency with MS Office Suite, virtual meeting platforms, survey tools, databases and presentation software, and the ability to troubleshoot
- Strong interpersonal and intercultural communication skills; expresses written and verbal information using language that is appropriate to the sensitivities of the topic and the knowledge and understanding of the audience
- Professional temperament, including the ability to remain calm under difficult circumstances
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse groups,understand the value of diversity and inclusion in the workplace and must be an advocate for equity
- Effective time management skills and demonstrated ability to multitask while maintaining a high degree of independence, accuracy and quality; working collaboratively with colleagues to meet assigned deadlines
- Ability to manage multiple complex and competing priorities
- Must be a highly motivated, effective problem solver with exceptional organizational skills
- Receptive to newideas and approaches, adapts well to change; demonstrated ability to take initiative to improve processes
