**Who is Chief Red Bear Children’s Lodge?**

Through the organization Chief Red Bear Children’s Lodge (CRBCL), Cowessess First Nation is the first Indigenous community in Canada to assert its jurisdiction over child welfare and family services under the Bill-C92 Canada Act. CRBCL is currently developing its operations, in accordance with the Miyo Pimatisowin Act, which provides support for its children and families in a way that is rooted in traditional Indigenous values and cultural practices.

**Position Summary**

Reporting to the Associate CEO, the Director of Young Adulthood (Post Majority) will oversee the creation, development and implementation of post majority and youth support programs and services for Cowessess First Nation citizens and their families. This role ensures innovative and purposeful programming to support the holistic wellbeing of Cowessess families, with a focus on empowering youth transitioning to adulthood.

The Director will lead a team of professionals to develop and deliver youth support programs for individual up to 26 years old. These programs serve as a bridge to adulthood, providing guidance and assistance regardless of family circumstances. Collaborating with provincial CFS agencies and CRBCL Prevention/Healing and Culture Teams, the Director will establish integrated services tailored to the needs of youth aging out of care and their families. Building strong community partnerships and facilitating access to preventative services are essential to supporting youth in their journey toward independent living.

To succeed in this role, the Director must possess a deep understanding of the human services field and the needs of Cowessess citizens. They should demonstrate strong leadership skills with the ability to integrate professional and paraprofessional roles into the organization’s mission, goals, and objectives. This position demands both strategic vision and hands on leadership to advance Chief Red Bear Children’s Lodge’s mission of fostering community strength and resilience.

Qualifications Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in the Indigenous Social Work/Social Work or equivalent, a Master’s degree preferred.
- Registration with the SASW/CASW would be an asset.
- 10+ years of experience working within the human services field.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a senior management role (within the non-profit sector preferred).
- Exceptional knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and SharePoint).
- Knowledge of Bill C-92 and Miyo Pimatisowin Act highly desired.
- Experience in budget management and development, strategic planning, and human resource responsibilities.
- Proven ability to research, develop and implement programs, policies, and procedures.
- Experience working within an Indigenous framework or the desire to learn and grow in this environment is highly desired.
- A proven track record leading strategic initiatives with a thorough understanding of business planning, accountability processes and risk management.
- Demonstrated ability to build commitment through collaboration, consultation and understanding of citizen, partner and stakeholder needs

In addition to above, the incumbent must provide a successful criminal background check with vulnerable sector search as well as be willing and able to commute to the CRBCL Head Office on a regular basis, which is located on Cowessess First Nation, SK.
