**The Role**

The **New Home Warranty Technician** is responsible ensuring new home warranty issues are addressed, trade visits are coordinated, and superior customer satisfaction is provided through a timely and effective home warranty service.

**The Responsibilities**
- Contribute to the Excel Homes customer experience by conducting scheduled warranty appointments.
- Understand and assess the deficiencies in a new home to determine the next appropriate action.
- Provide post-possession services and warrantable repairs including dispatching Trades for repairs when applicable.
- Coordinate trade day visits and act as the primary contact for both the customer and the trade throughout the entire process.
- Ensure trades are completing service orders within the scheduled timeframe, and that customers are advised of any delays before their scheduled appointment.
- Follow up with trades on any items that are not completed on trade days.
- Provide guidance and information directly to customers regarding the operation, maintenance, and care of their home.
- Review, verify and approve work completed by trade partners.
- Complete outstanding seasonal issues.
- Complete any maintenance issues in show homes.
- Ensure customers have an understanding of the warranty process.
- Maintain all Company assets and materials in good working order.
- Follow as well as ensure all safety guidelines, processes and policies are being maintained, reporting any incidents or violations.

**Now Let’s Talk About You**
- “Hands on” experience with home repair and maintenance skills with the ability to evaluate deficiencies and perform minor repair jobs including but not limited to drywall and paint repair.
- A firm understanding in both routine home maintenance as well as home functions.
- Strong problem-solving skills with an ability to investigate issues thoroughly as well as determine the appropriate action to correct.
- Must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with little supervision.
- Strong time management skills, with
- Physically able to move, maneuver, lift, push, etc. up to 50 lbs.

**Our ‘Must Haves’**
- Minimum of 2+ years’ work experience in the construction industry.
- Minimum of 2 years of customer service experience.
- Must provide a valid Alberta driver’s transcript with a clean driving record.
- Basic construction skills and knowledge including how to use construction equipment and tools.
- Good understanding and ability to work with computers, tablets, etc.
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
- Experience with Builder MT, SiteDocs, and/or Punchlist an asset.
