**Title**: Marketing & Event Coordinator
**Reports to**:Manager, Communication, PR and Membership Experience
**Position Summary**:
For 183 years the GKCC has provided value to its members through active advocacy, connecting leaders and creating opportunity. The Chamber is the voice of business in Kingston and advocates at the local, provincial and federal levels on behalf of 650 companies representing 18,00 employees.
The Greater Kingston Chamber of Commerce is a Membership-driven organization who leads and supports the business community of Kingston and the surrounding areas. Each year, the Chamber executes various programs and events with a particular focus on advocacy, networking, and education. We are looking for a Marketing and Event Coordinator to assist in planning and organizing our portfolio of events, supporting volunteer committees, executing day-to-day administrative tasks of the Events Department. Additionally, there is a focus also on our social and digital PR, this individual will help position the Chamber of as a business leader through the execution of creative and innovative communication tactics and working alongside the team to deliver successful, high caliber events and positive membership experiences.
**Key accountabilities**:
- Assist with the planning and execution of virtual, in-person and hybrid events
- Help design web graphics, social media assets, and marketing material for major events
- Build and manage relationships with partners and event attendees to help generate leads for sales/sponsorship
- Book and coordinate all venue logistics (physical venue spaces and/or virtual event platform)
- Assist in booking keynote speakers and panelists, providing them with full event details and content direction
- Assist with preparation of meeting and event agendas, scripts, BEO’s, floorplans, evaluation forms, biographies, etc.
- Liaise with all vendors and suppliers needed to successfully execute event (production, décor, food & beverage, entertainment, etc.), which may include confirming event needs, contract review, and/or negotiation
- Compile and send out all pre, during, and post event communication to attendees, speakers, exhibitors, sponsors, and any other key stakeholders
- Research potential keynote speakers or panelists for events
- Carry out any other related duties required to ensure the smooth functioning of the team
**Salary Range**: $40,000 - $45,000
**Position requirements**:
- A degree in Business Marketing, Graphic Design, Communications, or related field
- Minimum 1 - 3 years’ experience in marketing, events management, and graphic design; experience in a non-profit or membership focused organization would be an asset
- Design knowledge and skills to use Canva and other graphic design software
- Detail-oriented and ability to work in a small team
- Strong people skills with a passion for business and a genuine enjoyment of interacting with others
**APPLICATION PROCESS**:
Pay: $40,000.00-$45,000.00 per year
