The Manager of Strategic Initiatives will act as a pivotal resource providing research, direction and guidance to the Senior Vice President and support to the Organizational Leadership Team. The Manager of Strategic Initiatives is responsible for the leadership of the Strategic Planning process, including process implementation through planning, projects, communication, and change initiatives from a faith-informed perspective. This position requires a high degree of discretion, confidentiality, and tact in all forms of communication. The Manager of Strategic Initiatives responsibilities are an extension of the work of the Senior Vice President and, therefore, must represent themselves in a highly professional manner at all times.

**Responsibilities**:

- Support the Senior Vice President through research, feedback, collaboration, advice, and ideas on topics that influence Christian Horizons’ organizational culture and Christian ethos focusing on the strategic planning process.
- Clearly understand the End Statements and faith foundation to support the implementation of the board governance model through the development, implementation and reporting of the strategic plan.
- Ensure the Christian ethos is represented and influential in all areas of the Strategic Plan by researching and implementing faith-informed and outcome-based approaches to strategic planning.
- Collate and analyze data, evaluation results, and outcome information to draft progress reports for the Board of Directors and Broader Public Sector.
- Engage senior leaders in identifying strategic direction through analysis, stakeholder engagement, and organizational learning.
- Provide project management and evaluation support to the organizational strategic projects.
- Equip organizational leaders with systems, tools, and resources to plan and lead community and department targets and activities in support of organizational strategic plans.
- Attend Organizational Leadership Team meetings to understand progress on initiatives and track action items.
- Support the Senior Vice President through feedback, collaboration, advice, and ideas and will prioritize planning communication and planning strategies, shape key messages, and organize details which contribute to program/project success.
- Provide support to and strive to maintain a faith-based focus within the Senior Vice President Team.
- Uphold and support strategies around stakeholder relationships, including governments, church relations, donors, community partners, and people using services as it relates to strategic plans, performance evaluation, and other pertinent projects etc.
- Manage the development of new initiatives that are strategic in nature, i.e., create project plans to implement actions, record and evaluate progress, create communication, and roll out plans etc.
- Draft written communication for the Senior Vice President, including organizational memos and information letters promoting organizational messaging.
- Coordinate with external partners to create annual Strategic Plan videos.
- Research and implement approaches to faith-based organizational learning, project management and evaluation.
- Equip leaders with project management and evaluation strategies and tools to support their organizational projects and initiatives.
- Keep apprised of new and emerging project management and evaluation methodologies and work with stakeholders to assess and select methods and approaches for use within the organization.
- Maintain and grow strong contact with and support from the Christian community.
- Works within communities and departments to engage employees and the people who use our services.
- Network and collaborate within the non-profit and developmental services sector on strategic planning, evaluation, and community-based research topics.
- Make connections, especially with other faith-based organizations, on results-based management topics.

**Requirements**:

- 3 years of previous related working experience
- University Degree, Bachelor’s in a related field
- Project Management
- Advanced written and verbal communication skills
- Specialized analytical, research, report writing and presentation skills
- Strong organizational, time management, problem-solving and interpersonal skills
- Occasional provincial overnight travel
