**Family Resource Centre Coordinator**

**About The Agency**

Jewish Family and Child Service is a multi-service, client-centered, family service agency and a Children’s Aid Society. We support the healthy development of individuals, children, families, and communities through prevention, protection, counselling, and education and advocacy services, within the context of Jewish values.

**About the Role**

The Family Resource Centre (FRC), a branch of Jewish Family and Child Service is looking for a
***
**Family Resource Centre Coordinator **to develop, coordinate, and implement the operations and activities of the Family Resource Centre. The FRC encourages the growth and development of children and provides support to their adult caregivers.

**Responsibilities***:

- Plan, organize and develop a fun play-based learning environment.
- Coordinate programs for the surrounding community in the areas of parent education, family learning, resource development, and support programs.
- Plan and implement a variety of programming activities for the community, which should include activities to promote the creative, intellectual, social, emotional, and physical growth of the individuals attending the program.
- Liaise with partners and community agencies to promote and provide programming.
- Identify and prioritize community needs through outreach and marketing.
- Collaborate with Manager, Family Services for program development, enhancement and program budget.
- Assist or back up Child & Youth Workers in daily FRC activities such as crafts, music circle, resource development, workshops, etc. as needed.
- Maintain membership base and increase family involvement.
- Establish effective working relationships with internal and external resources
- Ensure the health and safety of all staff and participants by adopting and adhering to health and safety guidelines.
- Attend and participate in Team Meetings, and any other meetings as required.
- Represent the Agency’s mission, vision, and values in the community.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications***:

- Degree in Social Work or Early Childhood Education Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 4 years’ directly related experience including supervisory experience
- Experience working with diverse communities and cultures
- Knowledge of Jewish community needs and resources; knowledge and ability to create/run Jewish programs
- Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings
- This position may require travel to different work sites
- Strong coordination and planning skills
- Comprehension of French or another language will be considered an asset
