What you’ll be doing

As an Associate, Commercial Banking, Public Sector and Not-for-Profit Group, you can begin preparing to build a challenging and rewarding career as a world-class Commercial Banker and strategic partner to some of Canada’s leading public sector and not-for-profit organizations.

Commercial Banking’s Public Sector and Not-for-Profit Group is a specialized team of professionals dedicated to providing comprehensive financial solutions to public sector entities and not-for-profit organizations. With offices in Toronto, London, Kitchener, Hamilton, Barrie and Ottawa, the team is a leading provider of credit, cash management and other banking services to the Ontario public and not-for-profit sector. Our clients include hospitals, universities, colleges, school boards, municipalities, government agencies, local distribution companies, charities and not-for-profit organizations.

As an Associate, you will join CIBC’s Public Sector and Not-for-Profit Group to provide support to account teams through client acquisition, relationship management and credit management processes as well as providing transactional support for client specific financing solutions.

How you’ll succeed- Business development support - Assist Relationship Managers, Commercial Banking Public Sector and Not-for Profit Group in coordinating activities through the sales cycle and liaising with other units of CIBC as necessary. Assist with the execution of business development initiatives and contribute to the achievement of growth targets by identifying business opportunities and developing financing solutions to meet the needs of the client.- Research & evaluation - Assist in evaluating business growth opportunities through comprehensive industry, client and prospect research. Prepare analyses in support of credit submissions including structuring and documentation.Who you are- You can demonstrate experience in financial statements and accounting principles including valuation techniques and cash flow analysis.- You have a degree/diploma in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field.- You are a team player and have the ability to work well within a group setting. Must have the ability to work on teams that generate ideas and implement solutions for clients.- You put our clients first. You have strong client and relationship management skills.
