Intern (People and Culture)

**Purpose**
The Great Canadian Railtour Company operating as Rocky Mountaineer provides a paid, 14-week program offering hands-on experience in People & Culture functions. Our internship program is designed to provide with a comprehensive learning experience by gaining functional knowledge and exposure of working in a corporate environment. Working collaboratively with the P&C team and business units, the P&C intern delivers high quality administrative support on a full spectrum of people programs and services that include, but not limited to, recruitment, policies, on/off-boarding, and event management.
**Key Areas of Accountability**
**Recruitment**
- Support new hires on their first day to assist in any questions/issues that may arise.
- Assist manager to ensure a positive experience during the first week onboarding (first week schedule, assist manager when using tool/s and ensure they are aware of them).
**P&C Administration**
- Respond to internal and external general P&C related inquiries in a timely manner.
- Administer and process all employee changes in UKG Pro systems with a high level of accuracy, while liaising with relevant teams (IT, Payroll, etc.); as required..
- Develop, maintain, and manage P&C information and policies on the company intranet.
- Support and contribute to continuous process improvement and streamlining of P&C processes.
**Qualifications**
**Education / Certification / Licenses**
- Currently pursuing Diploma in Human Resources Management from a recognized post-secondary institution, or a combination of relevant education and experience or graduate
**Skills**
- Proficient with systems and software including MS Office, and MS SharePoint an asset
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Highly organized
- Effective time management skills
