We are seeking a Purchasing Manager to join the MerchandisingTeam, supporting all Tokyo Smoke Ontario stores with weekly cannabis ordering from the Ontario Cannabis Store. This position will have the direct responsibility for meeting the customer demands on product availability while optimizing our inventory investment in a new and rapidly evolving industry. This position will be temporarily working remotely, however, will be required to work out of an office in Toronto when it is deemed safe to do so.

**Key Priorities / Projects & Timeline**:

- Oversee merchandising and purchasing teams in the overall item selection process, product development, assortment management, responsible for leading the allotment planning of all SKUs’
- Analyze and report on weekly KPIs.
- Own and Develop OTB for all stores on a weekly basis looking at week over week sales and IOH.
- Make recommendations to Franchise partners on SKU selection.
- Oversee and Manage Cannabis SKU productivity, performing Monthly Reports ensuring grown.
- Conduct internal of performance and in stock positioning to ensure Partnerships and promotions are well supported.
- Define product selection by identity to the most productive and innovative SKUS.
- Manage and grow the purchasing team.
- Be the authority on Cannabis Product Knowledge
- Grow Tokyo Smoke Market Share across all categories.
- Identify and Forecast industry trends.
- Support our Partnership Health via regular inventory checks, implementing strategies to improve performance.

**General Responsibilities**:

- Lead Category Management Strategy and approach
- Cannabis & Accessories
- Planning and Allotment
- Relationship building with both internal and external contacts.
- Provide Knowledge and insight into industry related trends.
- Weekly performance reports on sales across various KPIs
- Partner closely with the Merchandizing Manager to ensure congruency within the team and planning.

**People Leadership Responsibilities**:

- Work closely with piers to ensure team approach to managing the business,
- Set clear expectations of the standards expected across the team.
- Ensure a framework is in place where performance can be measured with coaching & development provided when necessary.
- Develop a clear people succession strategy for all key team members.

**Requirements**:

- 3-5 years of experience in purchasing, preferred
- Post-secondary education with a focus on retail and/or business management
- Experience in the cannabis industry an asset
- Fine attention to detail, with an analytical mindset
- Influential and collaborative communicator with strong relationship building skills with an ability to influence others without direct authority
- Keeps pulse on customers and trends in the cannabis industry, as well as product innovation
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated customer service excellence, with a strong attention to detail and follow up is required
- Strong work ethic and a positive team attitude
- Ability to establish priorities and manage workload effectively and efficiently
- Self-starter and able to work with mínimal supervision and to tight deadlines.
- Demonstrated problem solving and decision-making ability.
- Employment is conditional upon satisfactory proof of receiving the full COVID-19 vaccination
