Finance/Administration Manager Job Description

The Grimsby Benevolent Fund (GBF) Community Services’ mission is to meet our clients’ basic needs and promote wellness throughout our community, while providing a safe and rewarding environment for our Board, staff, and volunteers.

As a non-profit, charitable organization, our accounting is complex and a critical aspect of GBF’s financial management. Our organization must comply with unique accounting standards; engage in effective budgeting and financial planning; use fund accounting, and, conduct regular audits to ensure that our financial records are accurate and transparent.
Position Overview
Essential Role ResponsibilitiesFinancial Responsibilities:

- Manage daily store revenue, including closing out cash twice daily and making bank deposits.
- Process all monetary donations and accurately record data in Raisers Edge database, plus issue tax receipts.
- Generate acknowledgement letters for all types of received donations.
- Prepare data reports for fundraising and engagement purposes.
- Extract and analyze data pertaining to donors as required.
- Prepare monthly financial reports related to Store sales and received donations.
- Collaborate with Departments and prepare departmental monthly and ad hoc reports as necessary.
- Conduct organizational data analysis and reporting as required, including monthly Board reports.
- Work closely with Auditors and CEO for annual year-end audit.

Administrative Responsibilities:

- Provide administrative support to the CEO as required.
- Provide documentation to ADP for preparation of staff payroll.
- Point of contact person for Computer IT inquiries.
- Point of Contact for Social Media postings on Facebook, Instagram, and GBF’s Website.

Additional Requirements:

- Ensure all Financial/Administration goals, targets and milestones are completed on time and within budget.
- Participate in relevant professional and marketing events as a representative of GBF. This may be outside regular scheduled hours.
- Participate in relevant professional organizations as a representative of GBF.

This is a salaried position, working (40) hours per week. Must be able to work occasional evenings as required, including one Saturday per staff rotation (i.e., approximately every 5 weeks).
Qualifications & Certifications:

- Minimum of University/College education in accounting or finance.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a financial setting.
- Solid knowledge of computer systems and competence in QuickBooks, Word, Microsoft Office, and preferably Raisers Edge.
- CPR and First Aid training/certification.
- Payroll Administration knowledge and strong analytical skills.

**Salary**: $50,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
