**Position Summary**:
Reporting to the Payroll Analyst, the incumbent is accountable for processing the CAAT Pension Plans, (both DBprime and DBplus plans). Their primary duties involve calculating payroll deductions and generating reports for each pay group. They are responsible for verifying manual calculations and entries for each pay group and serving as a backup to all Payroll Administrators. The incumbent will also conduct ongoing audits on pension and payroll processes, collaborating with various departments and external stakeholders as necessary.

In this role, the incumbent will gather pension information from PeopleSoft and other relevant sources. They will critically evaluate this information, with a focus on reconciling, resolving, and reporting compliance issues. Their aim is to align the pension information with business requirements and ensure its accuracy and reliability.

**Responsibilities**:
**CAAT (Pension) Management & Operations**
- Review and validate data for enrolment of new employees in the CAAT Pension Plan.
- Complete all forms and inquiries in accordance with CAAT service level standards and business policies and procedures.
- Process pension payroll by calculating and uploading contributions to the pay line.
- Validate deduction accuracy and compliance.
- Conduct audits on deductions, including sample calculations, to ensure accurate calculations by the bolt-on system.
- Perform annual attestation as outlined by CAAT and serve as a backup in the absence of Payroll management, when needed, to execute fund transfers.
- **Reconciliation and Pension Adjustments**
- Conduct statutory deductions for Canada Revenue remittance.
- Complete quarterly audits on CAAT management items.
- Calculate and validate CAAT pension adjustments and report results in compliance with company and government guidelines.

**Other Duties as Assigned**
- Verify payroll unput and output and assure compliance with deadlines.
- Provide complete and accurate responses to payroll related inquiries from Seneca, employees, auditors, government agencies and other public institutions through verbal and written communication.
- Recommend and develop policies and procedures for the department in conjunction with the Payroll Operations Team.

**Qualifications**:
**Education**
- A minimum of two (2) year diploma in Business, Finance, Accounting or related field of study.
- A completed Payroll Compliance Practitioner Certificate (PCP), with requisite experience, is required.
- A Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) designation and a Pension Plan Administration Certificate (PPAC) are considered assets.

**Experience**
- A minimum of five (5) years of experience working in pension administration within the public sector.
- Experience with various pension calculations, such as estimates and terminations, including non-standard situations.
- Experience with CAAT is considered an asset.

**Skills**
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively correspond with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience in writing business requirements.
- Proficient in processing payroll within a unionized organization.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, with the ability to perform complex calculations quickly and accurately.
- Capable of working under pressure and meeting deadlines effectively.
