**True North HR Consulting is seeking a **Controller** for a manufacturing client based in the west end of the Greater Toronto Area.**

The Controller is a key leader on the facility’s leadership team, contributes to all areas of facility management and provides strong financial leadership. The Controller is responsible for planning and coordinating the facility’s budget and business planning activities in alignment with corporate policies and practices. The incumbent will provide financial direction to the facility and recommendations to improve site performance. and provide recommendations to improve site performance.
**Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to**:
- Managing all accounting operations, including Billing, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, G/L, Inventory/Cost Accounting and Revenue Recognition (except where centralized at the corporate office)
- Ensuring proper accounting under Canadian Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises; managing month-end closing and preparing accurate monthly financial statements and other operational reports for the site; analyzing variances and communicating explanations to management with recommended actions
- Preparing forecasts of the income statement, balance sheets, and statements of cash flows for the facility
- Integrating and training new staff while leading the continued professional development of the existing team, and sharing best practices across the global finance team, e.g., process improvements, financial modelling, and procedures changes
- Monitoring and implementing internal facility controls (in conjunction with corporate policies) as necessary to ensure reporting integrity, safeguarding of company assets, and identifying risks
- Collaborating with internal teams of cross-functional departments to support strategic objectives
- Supporting all Health and Safety requirements in the facilities
- Minimum five (5) years of accounting or finance experience in a manufacturing environment
- Exceptional problem-solving skills, a creative thinker, adaptable and comfortable with changing environments
- Able to independently identify and execute opportunities for improvement and strengthening of control
- The ability to utilize critical thinking skills and execute operationally
- Knowledge and understanding of continuous quality improvement techniques related to financial targets, timeliness, and client and staff satisfaction
- Highly developed MS Office skills. Advanced Excel skills are a must
- Demonstrated ability to manage conflicting priorities
- Creativity, adaptive to change, proactivity, flexibility and future-focused
- Able to establish credibility, trust and build relationships with people of all levels of an organization
