Job Summary:
**Your role**:

- Be the project manager for the creation of a consistent, corporate work planning process and tools that enable prioritization and resource allocation
- Assisting departments on a corporate approach to prioritization, timing, resourcing, and communicating work activitie
- Developing a mechanism for staff at all levels of the organization to have the opportunity to identify and communicate capacity with respect to workload
- Developing a process for any new priorities and/or projects outside of the normal planning cycle to be made in reference to work plans
- Assisting staff/departments when they are identified as a project support or dependency to identify the resourcing requirements needed from the departments requesting project support
- Creating a standard review process to update and maintain accuracy of workplans after they are developed
- Acting as a resource to conduct research, manage data, provide interpretation, and offer recommendations based on industry best practice for work planning
- Provide technical direction and training around project management technologies, methodologies, performance metrics, project financials and standards to ensure desired project performance objectives are met
- Develop and maintain formal project documents including project charter, schedule, risk register, and business case, among others, and ensure project management rigour is consistent with protocols of the City’s Project Management Office and PMI
- Work with leaders and stakeholders to evaluate current processes/performance and determine appropriate projects to support the work plan project
- In partnership with the Strategic Initiatives team, ensure that the work plan development is aligned with and supports the corporate departmental business planning process and the strategic plan refresh
- Support the implementation of the City’s corporate strategic plan with emphasis on successful integration of work plans with departmental business plans and corporate budget process
- Support the implementation of corporate performance measurement frameworks, policies, and processes
- Communicate with a variety of stakeholders, including the executive team
- Facilitate and/or lead meetings with City staff, internal departments and external stakeholders as a representative of the Strategy, Innovation and Intergovernmental Services team
- Any other duties as assigned

**Qualifications**:

- Demonstrated experience leading corporate business transformations in large organizations
- Experience working with and effectively influencing stakeholders at all levels in the organization
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members in the work group and employees in other departments
- Results-oriented change agent who is an effective business systems thinker with the ability to manage risk and ambiguity on a project
- Knowledge of PMI project management methodologies, including demonstrated success in managing a variety of projects and budgets as well as the ability to adequately coordinate the efforts of multi-disciplinary project teams. Professional project management (PMP) designation would be an asset
- Demonstrated experience with Lean process tools and continuous improvement tools and practices is an asset
- Well developed critical thinking, consulting and facilitation skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on relationship management, networking, collaboration and time management
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple and changing demands and priorities
- Travel, evening and weekend work is not expected, but may be required
