**Position Description**:
The Centre for Applied Genomics is a world-leading genomics facility at Toronto's Hospital for Sick Children Research Institute, and part of Canada's Genomics Enterprise. Our Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) facility provides DNA sequencing services to a wide variety of public and private research institutions.
- Proficiency in programming is desired. Thorough knowledge of a scripting language such as Python or Perl will be extremely helpful.
- Practical working knowledge of R / Bioconductor is desirable.
- Experience working with genomic data, particularly genome sequence data (and preferably from human samples) will be an asset.
- Advanced knowledge of statistics would be a "nice to have" additional skill.
- A thorough grounding in genetics/genomics and/or molecular biology would be a desirable asset, as would practical experience working in a research laboratory performing molecular biology techniques.
- Experience in human genetics is preferable.
- Excellent English language skills (both spoken and written) are required.
- Organization and careful record-keeping are critical.

**Employment Type**: Full-Time 1 Year Contract with Modified Benefits (i.e., health and dental).
