Reporting to the Manager, Field Placement, the incumbent develops, implements, and manages practicuM/Field placements for students in both full-time and part-time Community Studies programs. These practicuM/Field placement opportunities allow students to meet the learning outcomes of the practicum or field placement courses. Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

- Coordinating all aspects of the mandatory field placements /practicum courses by explaining processes and protocols, advising on options available, and counselling on individual needs or requirements on a one-on-one or group forum basis
- Directing students to credit transfer to review PLARs and exemptions which are then reviewed by the academic area, and then implementing any decisions relating to PLARs and exemptions for field placements
- Assigning college monitors to conduct on site visits to monitor practical work experiences
- Implementing and making agency-requested changes to College/Student/Employer Agreements including WSIB, and ensuring all paperwork is completed as per agency policy
- Ensuring documentation, record keeping, and practicum / placement notes are current, accurate and organized
- Collecting, compiling, and ensuring accuracy of practicum/ placement data (student and placement evaluations) is documented as per departmental procedures
- Entering student grades on Student Information System (SIS) following each practicum/ placement course
- Preparing reports/summaries as required
- Recruiting appropriate placement agencies to meet the needs of the students and the learning outcomes of the programs
- Maintaining current agency directory
- Maintaining and enhancing partnerships
- Identifying scheduling or program conflicts
- Participating in advisory committee meetings as required
- Liaising between practicum clinical placement hosts, faculty monitors and students, in collaboration with program coordinator(s)
- Supporting students with completion of necessary paperwork and documentation to successfully complete field/placement experience and placement requirements, in the absence of the college monitor
- Planning and implementing part-time monitor orientation to field placements
- Bringing forward trends and partner communication that faculty and administration may consider for curriculum changes as it relates to placement activities
- Participating in curriculum and team meetings as necessary to support placement activities
- Liaising between placement agencies and program faculty
- Preparing and managing specific projects related to placement issues
- Working with part-time studies managers in planning field placement schedules for part-time program offerings
- Ensuring all pre-requisites are met prior to coordinating student placements for part-time studies students

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Successfully completed a two-year postsecondary diploma in the human services fields or another relevant field of study
- A minimum of five years’ experience in a similar role where duties included working with various partners and community agencies to build relationships and develop and coordinate opportunities such as placements, educational experiences, employment opportunities, volunteer placements, etc.
- Experience tracking and maintaining data and records within a computerized database. GeorgianConnects experience would be an asset
- Computer skills and experience using the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, and Excel) and MS Teams
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain relationships with various internal and external partners including community agencies
- Decision making and judgement skills
- Demonstrated problem solving and critical thinking skills
- Time management and organizational skills
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to travel to various campuses
