Position Summary
**Responsibilities**:
- Process full-cycle bi-weekly payroll (for salaried and hourly employees) across Canada, Mexico and US Entities.
- Review payroll transactions entered into the system including new hires, terminations, and preparation of ROEs.
- Calculate termination payments and manual payroll adjustments, as well as support in remittances for source deductions, garnishees, WSIB, EHT etc.
- Generate records of employment for terminating employees.
- Prepare, and reconcile monthly/quarterly workers' compensation reports.
- Communicate with the HR department and other internal stakeholders to ensure pay and employee records are accurate and up-to-date.
- Review the payroll register, reconcile payroll accounts, and prepare payroll accounting journal entries.
- Participate in the fiscal year-end process (process T4/R1’s, assist in reporting for auditors, etc.).
- Participate in other special projects as needed.
**Qualifications**:
- Minimum 5 years experience in payroll.
- General knowledge of Canadian and US employment law, payroll legislation, and accounting principles.
- Understanding Mexican payroll is an asset.
- ADP Workforce Now experience is an asset.
- Relevant payroll certification is an asset.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- A high degree of ownership, independence, and decision-making.
- Experience working in a multi-site environment and international operations.
- Solid communication skills and ability to work with internal and external partners.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and extreme discretion.
