St. Joseph’s Continuing Care Centre is seeking a part-time Business Office Assistant. This is a non-union position. We offer a competitive salary range between $23.89 - $25.71, flexible shifts, HOOPP Pension plan, and access to our Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
**Job Summary**:
Responsible for activities related to reception and administration duties which include;
- Receive and provide information to visitors, residents and patients
- Answer and transfer operator telephone calls
- Page personnel and announcements over the intercom system
- Prepare admission records for residents and patients
- Receive and sort daily mail for residents/patients and the facility
- Receive payments from residents/patients/families and prepare receipts
- Handle residents’/patients’ trust account withdrawals and deposits
- Replenish and maintain cash boxes for the residents’/patients’ trust accounts and petty cash
- Maintain a high degree of confidentiality of patient/resident and staff information
- Organize and file documents in a timely manner
- Assist with any other office-related duties.
**Qualifications**:
- Minimum Secondary School Diploma
- Completion of Post-Secondary Education an asset
**-**Fluently bilingual in English and French is mandatory
**-**Experience in an office environment
- Understanding and experience with information technology tools, i.g. Microsoft Excel, Word, and Financial Accounting software.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written, in situations that require tact, diplomacy, and discretion
**-**Three to five (3-5) years of customer service experience
- Must be detail orientated with high degree of accuracy
**-**Criminal reference check for the vulnerable sector
**Job Type**:Permanent Part-Time
**Hours of Work**:40 hours per two-week pay period.
**Schedule**:4 hours / day from Monday to Friday
**Salary**: $23.89 to 25.71 / hour
